Scn-Rls admin don't even know what hes talking about if the service is any good they want corrupt your files, That's not even what happened . What happen was one of the most used ones RG ban all there accounts . Its in his best interest you don't use a 3rd party service is all .

Meanwhile he uses bots to get them from free [email protected] and uploads them and makes living off people buying RG and using dropapk . So he does but is telling his downloaders not to do it.

If you want to make dropapk faster you need to sign up and get it from webpage and use XDM download manger.Some sites like that one don't work good with JD2 .

@reddevil, Thank you for checking. The CRC32 matches. I also used Dropa. So I gave it a good listen. Originally, I had spot checked the d/l like I always do, checking for sync, language, subs etc. At 1:10:21 I heard a dropout like maybe a word had been censored but then I heard another and another. But this time, while I still hear that one, the others are gone. My only thought is, maybe, this happened while I had the page file turned off and I was overtaxing my system.
Sir, I thank you for your time. Now I can put this recording into my collection. :D

@meridian, @reddevil, Have you noticed Rarbg's x265 encodes? They are too large and high bit rate for my needs, and I know one shouldn't use a highly compressed (HEVC) as a source, but I would like some of the titles. So I grabbed 'Dune.[1984].EXTENDED.1080p.BluRay.x265-RARBG.mp4' and plopped it into HB, set audio to AutoPassthru and added to queue. The result is the audio track only- no video. I then tried changing the video to x264 (which fixes some forms of copy protection) but still no video. I tried MKVToolnix hoping to squeeze the size but no, the output is actually 0.1% larger. I turned on Compression and tried again and got a 0.1% reduction using auto and 0.2% reduction using zlib. Ario had mentioned he had to adjust his Screenshot routines to handle these files because they don't follow HEVC standards exactly.
Anyway, I was wondering if youall had tried any of these?

@Raada, i had Spawn.1997.DC.1080p.BluRay.x265-RARBG and ran some quick and partial tests, for a while using Handbrake 1.3.1. The (partial about a minute) re-encoded videos played fine. I tried audio passthrough as well as aac combined with h.265, h.265 10bit and h.264. All played fine, so it must be some setting on your system. Just FYI i have turned 'off' the option to use Nvidia nvenc encoders, coz it doesn't work anyway and also a lot of online forums suggested not to use them, since they dropped quality (vs. cpu x265) with bitrates lower than 4000 or so.

I wasn't aware of MKVToolnix re-encoding and compression capabilities since it's a multiplexer. Is it some new version or something?

Anyways, let me know how it goes, also if you have changed some system wide settings or some update, maybe it could be the cause. Maybe if possible try a different encoder, say... XMedia Recode like bld71.

@reddevil Thanks for the reply. I tried turning off the Nvidia encoder and noise reduction and interlace detection but none helped. It must be some system setting but no clue yet. I'll keep digging and try the other encoder.

@reddevil, I did not find the magic setting but I did install Xmedia Recode and it solved my problem. It is completely different and will take weeks to master, but I have a decent 1030KB/s 720p 820MB vid from My.Best.Friend's.Wedding.[1997].1080p.BluRay.x265-RARBG. It took about 70 min!
Off topic, the Sony/Tristar intro is HORRIBLE, grainy, pixilated, yuk. I would never want MY product identified with THAT. I managed to find the noise reduction and cleaned it up a bit. The actual movie was fine.

@Raada, I have another suggestion, try the Portable version of Handbrake (it's available on the main site itself). Also try to keep the 10bit video as is, instead of dropping it to 8bit i.e., while transcoding.

70min is impressive, what's your PC specs?

I agree with the grainy part, they are just lazy. Also, rarbg x265 encodes could be the problem, maybe source or thier settings. Let's see how they fare up on newer movies.

@reddevil, I can consider keeping the 10bit although I share these with friends whose computers barely do 8bit. If this speed is for real and I don't find reefs in the meantime, I might do it both ways.
I will try the portable version. I used to get those versions whenever I could but my AV doesn't like them, so I have to stop and do some checking. Right now this has my interest, so I'll play with this toy for a few days. ;D

@Reddevil, Computer specs: same as before, 4th gen I7 (declocked to 3.8GHz), 16GB 1600 DDR3, Nvidia 1660GX (Silent mode- declocdked 10%), 108TB storage, 1/2TB SSD for Windows 10 Pro x64.

108TB?? Wow, thats a lot. May i ask further about how many disks and are they with multiple power supplies, i mean how are they connected?

@reddevil, 9x12TB WD from last year's Black Friday sales ([email protected]). All in a single Antec case powered with a Corsair 850RX power supply. I used a couple power splitters and one 4-port expansion card. Actually, there's room and ports for two more drives but they aren't needed here. After a power outage and surge a month or so ago, I also rebuilt my server. 23x12TB drives, all in one really old ugly made-in-usa steel AT server case, powered by an Antec 850 Quattro True Power supply. This is the 5th incarnation of the same box. Initially started with a dozen 100-160GB assorted drives. Then 3TB drives, then 4TB drives, then 8TB drives and now 12TB drives.
I'm pretty sure this will be the last as I can no longer even lift the computer.

The X-media Recode experiment is going well. I have reencoded all my RARBG-x265 movies to date.
~70 min for 720p, ~122 min for 1080p The X-Files (close to real-time). I have not figured out the perfect NR settings (in Handbrake just set for Ultralight-none for 98% of everything, just tweak for those really bad movies). Nor, have I managed to automate batches. But I can't expect to manage a new app in days like the 4+ years it took to get a good handle on HB ;) I have been working with cropping 2:1 ratio movies. Generally the intro and exit credits will show you the minimum screen size you can crop to before playing with the resolution and the resizing algorithm. I have played reducing 1920x800 to actual 720p. That's not a problem with computer playback but I have no idea what pitfalls might await...
Anyways, stay tuned. I'll post any revelations as they are resolved. And as always, post your questions. I'll do my best, and I appreciate you help as well. I imagine Meridian is busy draining a swamp somewhere (setting up hundreds of people to work from home?) ;)

@Raada
Any chance you still have some of those 3tb drives? And if so would you be willing to sell a couple of them really cheap?

@MenOfMayhem D) I gave away all of them. While they were 3 years old when I pulled them, I have 'Power off drives' set to 40 minutes, so they didn't have a bunch of hours on them.
If this place had PM I'd speak more about this. ;)

@Meridian, @reddevil, or anyone still needing ................................................................. .................................................................

@Raada, yea i wish i could ask more in PM but... I have some 4tb's connected with an expansion card as well, maybe will add 4tb or 8tb depending on the budget someday. How many years did your WD drives last? i ask because i have had the worst luck with WD in the past, and so am sticking with Seagate for now.

And regarding The.Last.Kingdom.S04 i got them from PSA (my usual place), but thanks for asking.

Where is meridian though? I hope he's ok and is busy draining a swamp :)

@reddevil, My first hard drive was a Seagate 20MB. Over the decades, Seagate and WD have swapped king of the hill many times. My upgrades were for extra storage not drive failures per se. I think each incarnation had 1 failure. Overall, failures are even between brands.

Hey @Raada 720p x265 10bit should play OK on most low end PCs raw processing power. I can play some 1080p 10bit as long as its not 16:9 AR and I can play back any 1080p 8bit on this on this Older PC .

I most the time don't even bother with 10bit unless they have it in 720p and there is only like 2 sites that have it if I cant find it i just watch x264 .

Most newer PCs have drivers that support Hevc 10bits so it plays back like x264 does .
